Tino eats like a pig! He will eat just about anything and is always looking for more. He is slower than the vizslas, but has a narrower mouth. The Vs get 2 cups of dog food a day while he eats 4-5 cups. That should go down once he reaches adulthood, adults typically eat 2 cups (depending on the food). From my experience, feeding about 15 different IHs and knowing the eating habits of others, most are chow hounds. In obedience class he will bark at me if I don’t give him treats often enough.
Occasionally there is a picky one. The one I watched over the weekend, Tino’s half sister, is. I wouldn’t say it’s common in the breed, though. Vizslas are often choosy eaters, much much more so that Ibizans. I can’t speak for other sight hounds as my only experience there is with a couple of Pharaohs, and they all love food!
